Connecting the PRD-225

Wiring

The PRD-225 connects to the rest of your cockpit over the shared CAN bus — see Adding a Device and the CAN Bridge wiring guide for the two-wire bus and termination rules.

The PRD-225 can also act as the USB-CAN bridge itself when it's the only device connected — plug it straight into your PC over USB and it behaves exactly like a standalone bridge to SimLinkHub. You only need a separate CAN Bridge dongle once you're running more than one device.

First-time setup

  1. Install SimLinkHub if you haven't already.
  2. Connect the PRD-225 — either directly by USB (hybrid bridge mode), or via a CAN Bridge if it's one of several devices.
  3. Launch SimLinkHub. It should detect the radio automatically; the connection indicator turns green once it's online.
  4. In Settings → Manage Database…, confirm it's set to the COM radio you want it to control (COM1 or COM2).
  5. Launch MSFS 2024 and load a flight — the radio syncs to the sim's current frequencies within a few seconds.

If nothing shows up, see the troubleshooting section of the Pilot's Guide.
